And what exactly is your problem? If you want a menu on the left side, you have to set "define('USE_NAV', TRUE);" in config/config.php, rename the file you want to use to "nav.html" (or change the appropriate setting) and perhaps change the value of the "COMMENT_INDENT"-Setting... If I was to think about it as an uneducated/non-blog-geek web surfer I wouldn't think to click "Permalink" if I wanted to view the comments for an entry, especially since the "Comments" link has the number of current comments listed beside it. That's it. Did I made a mistake in config.php? Your going to have to give us some more information as to exactly what is happening as I'm not sure what you mean. Where do you see this? Paste an example or give us a URL where we can see it. > > Also I like to know, if its possible to seperate frontend and backend > functions. > I would assume you would like to access the data from the backend and display it in some other format, no? The system is not designed to readily allow that at this time. If that is what you are looking to do, you will need to take a look at index.php and more importantly polarblog.php and work your way back from there. This might be easier in the future as I would like to implement a templating system, but that's quite a ways off (V2). Also, I'd recommend you upgrade to V1.2.3 as there is bug in V1.2.2 that you don't want. As this is just a minor bug and should not lead to any errors I'd say wait for the next version. But if you really want it gone NOW, I've just fixed it (although I'm not sure if this is the best solution): In file config/config.php replace the line starting with "$base_url =" with these two: $dir = dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']); $base_url = $http . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . ((strlen($dir) <= 1) ? $dir : $dir . '/'); (there's a break in the second line after the ":"... of course it has to be in one line in the file). Again: this was done very quick and I won't guarantee that it really works (although I think it should)... better wait for the next version. '/'; to: $base_url = $http . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']) . ''; Seems to work fine. I haven't had any problems with polarblog after removing the forward slash. I figured it was either something with my apache or php versions or configs and just worked with it. -Alan --------------------------------- Message: 5 Date: Sun, 12 Dec 2004 15:42:40 +0100 (CET) From: Philipp Becker Subject: Re: [PolarBlog] double slash To: Richard , Wilfried Klein Cc: Polarblog@polarlava.com Message-ID: Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed Hi Richard & Wilfried, Looks like that error occurs when the blog is the main page of a domain, not in a directory like, for example, http://mydomain/blog/ This comes from the definition of BASE_URL in config/config.php.
